Veet Easy Wax Electrical Roll-On kit Review/Tutorial

As you know I recently reviewed the Veet hot wax, just after I was sent the Veet Electrical Roll On Wax kit to review. I will be doing a tutorial and review on how to wax legs with the roll on kit. To use this kit for underarms and bikini line, it’s recommended that you get the smaller roller for the device. (I know my nails need doing, I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to sort them out!)

Things you’ll need:

  • Veet Electrical Roll On Kit
  • A plug socket near to where you’ll be waxing

Before Use:
You can use the Veet Electrical Roll On Kit on legs, underarms and bikini area. Do not use on head, breast, perianal, genital or any other body part. Don’t forget to read the instructions before you use it.

Preparation:

Make sure there’s no cream or product on the skin as it will affect how the wax works and it won’t work as well.

Take the roll on kit out of the box and read through all the instructions.
To heat the wax use only the Veet device. Insert the Veet wax refill into the device. Ensure it’s fully inserted.

Plug the electrical cable into the device and into the socket. The red light turns on to confirm the device is heating. Place the plugged device into the base and leave it for 20 mins to heat up. After 20 mins the device is ready to use,

The application:
Apply the wax to a small area first to check the wax applies easily, if the wax doesn’t roll onto the skin leave for an additional 5 mins. The wax is ready when it rolls onto the skin easily and evenly. Do not allow the wax to come into contact with water as it would become ineffective.

Apply the wax in the direction of the air growth (from knee to ankle)
Check that the slanted side of the roller is in contact with the skin during application to allow the roller to glide over the skin.

Place the strip over the layer of wax; make sure you rub down on the wax strip.
Hold the skin taut to avoid discomfort. Hold the bottom of the wax strip and pull it off in one quick motion against the hair growth. The faster you pull it off the more effective it will be. Never lift the strip upwards, keep it parallel to the skin.

Once you have finished waxing, remove any wax residue from the skin with the perfect finish wipes. Alternatively you can use the back of the wax strip.

Unplug the device (after use the refill will be hot-allow it to cool down before removing the refill from the device.) if necessary you can clean the roller head using the back of a used wax strip. Never use water, the finishing wipes or any other liquid to clean the device and roller head. Replace the cap on the roll on.

What I thought:
The application was extremely easy and mess free, the wax rolled easily over the skin in an even layer. Afterwards my legs feel really smooth and soft. I’m surprised at just how easy it was to use. It was painful but after the first couple of strips you get used to it and it doesn’t really hurt after a while. Its definitely better than shaving, legs stay smoother for longer and you don’t have to keep worrying about it. I will definitely be getting the smaller roller so I can try it out on my underarms and bikini line.

Veet Hot Wax Review/Tutorial

Things you’ll need:
  • Veet hot wax
  • A mirror
  • News paper
  • Tissues

Before use
You can use veet hot wax on legs, underarms, upper lip, and bikini area. Do not use on head, breast, perianal, genital or any other body part. Don’t forget to read the instructions before you use it.
Lay out some old newspaper on a table or wherever you’re going to use the wax.

Preparation
To start with, make sure you have removed all your make up, do not use any oily products as it will affect how the wax works.

To heat the wax, remove the lid and the foil seal and put the tub of Veet wax into the microwave for around 40 seconds and leave for 60 seconds (depending on the microwave you have, see instructions for more information.)

Take the Veet wax pot out of the microwave; be careful in case it’s hot.
The spatula that comes in the box is shaped to use on different body parts, there’s a blue temperature indicator on the end, if ‘NO!’ appears, then the wax is too hot for use, wait a few minutes for it to cool down.

When you’re ready to start waxing, dip the blue end of the spatula into the wax, wait a few seconds to see if ‘NO!’ will appear on the blue strip. You can test the temperature by testing it on the inside of the wrist (beauty tip from my time at Beauty College!)

The Application
The lovely model for my review/tutorial is my sister, Lisa-Marie. She is waxing her upper lip.
Start by applying the wax to the area you want waxed, spread it evenly onto the skin, doing small patches at a time.

Take one of the wax strips from the pack that comes with the hot wax, and press it against the wax and press firmly.

Tear off the wax strip in the opposite direction to the hair growth, make sure you tear it off quick, tearing it slowly will not pull the hairs out.

The area where the arrows are is where Lisa-Marie waxed first of all and you can see how well it works.

Keep waxing small sections until all the hair has been removed.

I’ve used the wax strips in the past and they can sometimes be painful and they leave a residue on the skin afterwards which can only be removed using the special finishing wipes. The hot wax can easily be removed with water.

The wax pot can become sticky after use from wax dripping but can easily be cleaned using a wet tissue or rag.

After Application
Do not apply make up to the waxed area for 24 hours after use. To sooth the redness of the skin you can use a small amount aloe vera lotion.

The Veet hot wax is painless and easy to use and I would definitely buy it again.
